Herbal Recipe of the Month: Fall/Winter Tea Blend A nourishing tea to boost your immune system 1 part licorice root 1 part burdock root 1 part dandelion root 1 part astragalus ½ part ginger root Blend the herbs and store in a glass jar. Use one teaspoon of this blend per cup of boiled water. Remember, a 'part' can be whatever you want (teaspoon, tablespoon, scoop, etc). Store tea blend in a cool place. To brew a cup, use 1 heaping tablespoon per 8oz water. Let steep for at least 20 minutes (the longer the better!), strain and enjoy.
For a more potent treatment, decoct the herbs - add 1 heaping teaspoon per cup of water to a pot. Bring to a boil, turn down heat and simmer for 20 - 30 minutes. Strain and enjoy.
**For more on herbal tea making, join us on October 23rd for the Herbal Teas workshop. Details above and on the website.
